About our Coaching

Here to There

Are you feeling ...?

Stuck, confused, stressed, dissatisfied with the way things are going?

Overwhelmed? Underwhelmed?

Feeling you can be better than who or what you are now?

You have no … some … lots of ideas of who or where you’d rather be?

At a crossroads?

Is there too much going on?

Going through many changes? Not enough changes?

Bored?

Moving….first time or again? Back to home country? To another country?

``Here to There``

The Meaning of the Name

Everything in my life seems to have been here to there when I think of how many times I’ve moved, and how many physical and mental adaptations and adjustments I’ve had to make! When we “physically” move ourselves from place to place, we go from a starting point and arrive at a destination that can take seconds or decades.  Those three words – Here, To, There  – are “chock-full” of meaning when are lives “shift.”

Each of us wants to be our best  – to feel that our life “fits” us –  with the  inspiration, courage, perseverance and motivation to make that happen.  Connect with yourself, feel confident, feel empowered and influence and change your life so that you are in alignment and feeling ready.

“Beginnings are scary, endings are usually [sometimes] sad, but it is the middle that counts the most. You need to remember that when you find yourself at the beginning.”

(from the film: “Hope Floats” – 1998)

What We Do

Our Coaching Services

Physically “moving” our bodies and our belongings to a new place, into new living quarters is logistically complex. But the success and happiness of “our personal internal shift and adjustment” – although not visible to the “naked eye” –  is the key to making that location work for you – seeing and feeling the possibilities (and hope) for yourself and those who accompany you (yes – including your pets).

As a life coach, I will partner with you to identify that which resonates with you, and to find the external aspects to project your image the way you’d like to be seen. We can work together on styling, image, confidence, and then doing the ultimate –you be in alignment with who you are inside and projecting that too.

As a fiber artist, the goal of my clothing designs is to foster a message of understanding, connection, and compassion for the wearer and the admirer.  Adjusting to living outside of my passport country continually reinforced to me the beauty of connection and diversity of people and cultures. From procuring or creating the fabrics, to achieving elements of self-actualization, I felt an alignment that fit who I was;  I felt deeply connected with myself as I reached outwards to others.

Who We Serve

Our Clients

My clients are women striving to be who and what they want to be. Perhaps it’s navigating challenges and obstacles. Or maybe – it’s trying to understand that “voice” inside that feels that something isn’t in alignment.

Transitions – whether an actual physical move by ourselves –  or with others –  (a partner family, pets) are multi-dimensional, multi-textural and complicated. The “others” may be influencing, diverting or preventing ourselves from transitioning in the best way possible. We can’t change someone else, but we can posture ourselves to be empowered in the dynamic. Our physical and emotional adjustments in these transitions are as unique as each of us. In the dedicated coaching space, we can work together to develop ideas and concepts that fit you to help you make the shifts in mindset and goals that resonate for you.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs

Adjusting and thriving in different countries satisfied all levels of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs for me. In my first overseas venture as a Peace Corps volunteer, some of the lower tiers of the pyramid were especially missing. But with different jobs, countries and experience, that type of adjustment shifted and I found satisfaction and joy at pretty much each level with a balance, rhythm and alignment at each.

repatriation - expatriation

“I miss my old life”

Repatriating to the USA, I continued to work with my wearable art designs with a heightened sense of purpose. But I felt a grieving for ex-pat life, and remember saying, “I miss my old life. I want it back.” There were odd gaps on each level of the hierarchy.

Over a course of several years, I reconnected with myself (internally), my art and design (externally), and my new environment and life in a way that it was my new there (at first) and then “here” – a reframing that took several years.

helping others

Shared Experience

I figured out how to make the transition that worked for me.  And I wanted to work with others who were going through similar transitions and adjustments. Without a framework I didn’t feel prepared to do the best I could. So – in  2022, I returned to an established, respected ICF coaching program for training and certification to be qualified as a life coach to help others with similar challenges.

Testimonials & Reviews

What our Clients Say ….

SR, Toronto

“Ellen helped me visualize and tap into what was important to me.  Her ability to ask insightful questions let me reflect and see new approaches to the challenges getting in my way.  I really appreciated her creative and intuitive style.”

AS, Philadelphia

“My coaching sessions with Ellen were powerful.  The perspectives I gained from the space Ellen held for me would not have been available to me had I not been in a coaching session with her. As a leader and an entrepreneur-I can experience life as being relentless and fast-paced; finding time to do deep reflection is a challenge.  This is why coaching is so important to my own success-it creates this space.  My work with Here and There allowed me to become aware of some self-limiting beliefs that were getting in my way.  Ellen is skilled at noticing self-limiting beliefs. She asks thought-provoking questions resulting in inspired action.  I am grateful to Ellen. She is a great coach! Thank you!”

LR, London, UK

“Thank you Ellen for your inspiring, insightful and energising sessions! You have a great way of being present while allowing me to formulate my issues at hand. Your ability to reflect and then articulate back my focus from which to hone in on and question always generates an awareness that inevitably dictates growth! Thank you for partnering with me on this journey.”
